Tracking Comet Jacques

Sky-Watcher EQ3 PRO Synscan

This series of shots taken over 150 minutes shows just how fast Comet Jacques moves in the sky. Travelling at 38km/s, Jacques covered 342,000km — almost the Earth-Moon distance! This was my first attempt at photographing a comet, made all the more difficult by the light pollution from Bristol. The photo is 90 arcminutes across.
