Transit of Venus

Just prior to third contact on the transit. I liked this image because of the juxtaposition of several distance scales- sunspots on the sun itself, Venus, and the clouds in our atmosphere. The presence of the black drop effect is rather nice as well- though the effect is not a real phenomenon, I’ve joined the large club of astronomers who’ve been foxed by it.
