A burst of solar activity was seen crossing the Sun’s surface the past weekend, with several sunspots erupting to create the strongest flares this year.

Some of you took the opportunity to observe and image the Sun during this period, and we present a selection of these solar images below.
Chris says: “I noticed a lot of excitement over the sunspot activity at the weekend and so I set up in white light to capture what I could. Four active regions were imaged despite this being the start of a solar minimum.”
