Coalsack Dark Nebula

David Slack

The image comprises 65 x 30 second exposures using a modified Canon 1000d, Tamron 55-200mm lens, Hoya UV/IR block filter and an ioptron sky tracker mount

This is an image of the Coalsack nebula taken during a recent trip to Namibia. I am pleased with the large amount of dust and stars that have been resolved, further enhancing the contrast of the dark nebulae. The skies in Namibia are very dark and transparent and were a pleasure to behold!
