Borgarnes, Iceland.

Tripod mounted Nikon D7000. Nikkor 18-200mm lens, set to 18mm focal length. Warm clothing!

This was my first time observing and imaging the Aurora Borealis and was taken on 25th November, when there was a new moon, during a short break to Iceland.

My camera helped to record the beautiful colours that my old eyes struggled to see. But, what cannot be captured with a camera is the dynamic nature of a display; within a few minutes, the lights looked completely different.
