How to watch today's solar eclipse online from anywhere in the world

The 12 August 2026 solar eclipse will be witnessed by millions of people across the UK and Europe, as well as parts of North America.

In Greenland, Iceland and Spain, observers will have the chance to position themselves along the path of totality and witness a total solar eclipse, when the Moon will completely cover up the Sun for a brief period.

Elsewhere, a partial solar eclipse will be visible.

NASA is streaming live views of the August 2026 eclipse from numerous cameras and will be providing info on what causes solar eclipses and how they can help scientists learn more about the Sun.

ESA is broadcasting live from the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre in Spain. Scientists, astronomers and special guests will look at the science behind eclipses in a stream hosted by The Sky at Night's Maggie Aderin.

The Royal Observatory Greenwich in London, UK is hosting a live stream of the partial solar eclipse that will be visible over the city on 12 August 2026.
