Crater Plato Region Of The Moon

Ralph Smyth
Lisburn, Northern Ireland
Celestron C8 SCT mounted on an HEQ5PRO mount. Imaged with a ZWO290MM camera through a Baader 610nm longpass filter.
Bounded by the Mare Frigoris above and the Mare Imbrium below, the iconic crater Plato, with its relatively flat and dark floor, was presenting nicely that evening. The large scar of the lunar Alpine Valley is to the right of it. A number of Mare wrinkles are also highlighting nicely.
