This is NGC 2237 – the fabulous Rosette Nebula in the constellation of Monoceros, the unicorn.

For this image I captured almost 15 hours worth of data – not easy given the terrible weather in the UK – on the nights of 28th and 29th of December 2013, and 4th January 2014. The RGB was augmented with Ha and [OIII] narrowband data and this has really brought out the complex structure of the nebula.

Ha 15 x 1200s
[OIII] 15 x 1200s
R 31 x 120s
G 37 x 150s
B 44 x 180s
