Having a go with a hydrogen Alpha filter.
Captured seven hours of data over two nights. The extra night of captures really helped to reduce noise and bring out more detail.
Blended the Ha data with the red data after stacking. Very easy to do using StarTools.
My pervious imaging attempts with a DSLR could only capture the cresent outline and were a bit disappointing.
The Ha filter with a mono camera has made a big difference. Even managed to capture same faint hydrogen clouds surrounding the cresent.
23 Ha 7.5min 2×2 binning frames, 15 RGB 2×2 binning 5min light frames. 25 dark, bias and flats. Deep sky Stacker, StarTools & Paintshop Pro X5.
