Jupiter over Spinalonga

David Pulley

Elounda, Crete

The images were taken with a tripod mounted Canon 500D and 18 – 55mm kit lens set at 18mm and f3.5. Images were taken between 10pm and midnight local time.

This image(s), which were taken from the town of Elounda, Crete on 12th October 2012 looking eastward, consist of some 240 x 30 second RAW images and added in Photoshop. Jupiter is the brightest trail rising over the northern extreme (left hand end) of the island which, a leper colony between 1903 and 1957, is now a tourist destination. Amongst the many stars visible are Capella, Aldebaran and Betelgeuse but can you find them?
