M104 Sombrero Galaxy

Celestron C11 Sct, Skywatcher NEQ6 pro mount,Atik 383L+ camera, motorised filter wheel and Astronomik filters.

Edge-on spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo with a prominent dust lane. 50 million light years away. Low altiude object with a declination of -16 degrees.

Thought my image would be ruined by light pollution but end result looks good. South west from my back garden is Swindon town centre.

Bright magnitude 8.0 galaxy so only needed 150 minutes of data. Small object at 8 minutes.

LRGB image with 2 hours and 35 minutes of data. 16 x Lum 5 x Red 5 x Green 5 x Blue 2.5 minute exposures.
