Wide field image of this Galaxy that is only 2.3 million lights years away.

Large and bright so a great galaxy to image. Spriral arms, dust lanes and regions of hydrogen gas glowing red, make for a interesting image.

Used a photoshop layer mask with an unscretched version of the image. This stopped the galaxy core being too bright and losing some of the faint central detail in the final image.

Increased the saturation to bring out the colour and highlight the red regions of hydrogen gas.

Image with 3 hours of data. 18 x Lum, 6 x Red, 6 x Green, 6 x Blue 5 minute exposures.
