Football shaped emission reflection nebula right next to the great orion nebula.
Trying a close up detailed image of this region by keeping my 11 inch telescope at f10.
Super bright so you always get great imaging results.
Used a photoshop layer mask with an unscretched version of the image so the trapezium area was not too overexposed in the final image.
Large structure so had to be aggressive with an unsharp mask to highlight the detail. Couldn’t sharpen anymore as it introduced too much noise into the image.
used 2×2 binning I so could cut down exposure times and get enough data in a single night. Cloudy nights on the weather forecast and a full moon next week.
RGB image with 1 hours and 27 minutes of data. 20 x Red, 20 x Green, 18 x Blue 90 second exposures.
