This is my recent image of the 62% Illuminated moon taken on 16/03/2016. As much as the moon can be a bit of a pest when it comes to imaging deep sky objects, I always fondly remember what very first got me into astronomy as a very young child. One of my earliest memories is of seeing the Perigee moon from my bedroom window filling up what seemed like half of the sky at the time to me and running across to my Granda’s house (who steyed next door but one) excitedly pointing the moon out to him. He is the one that got me into astronomy and for that I will always be thankful!
