Trying a not often imaged emission nebula, in the constellation cassiopeia, this month.

Weak in the oxygen component even with 15 minute exposures and a photoshop blue curve adjustment.

Stronger in sulphur round the edges of the nebula. Giving a nice golden brown colour shown by using the hubble palette.

Ticky to process as the left side of the nebula is bright while the right hand side is faint.

Problem solved by using a photoshop layer mask with a less scretched version of the image.

Used a photoshop reduce noise filter to remove the unwanted purple colour on the stars. A simple processing step that improves the quality of hubble palette images.

Data collected on three nights. 6th, 10th, & 15th August.

Sii/ha/oiii image with 9 hours 5 minutes of data. 11 x 15min Sii, 20 x 10min Ha, 12 x 15min Oiii 1×1 binning.
