The Moon – Endymion crater and surrounding area

Chris Dignan

Date taken: 13 March 2016
Telescope/mount: Celestron EdgeHD 8†Schmidt-Cassegrain on Celestron AVX mount
Camera: Zwo Design ASI120mm mono (captured using Firecapture software)
Filters: Astronomik Red/IR (latter used for craters without horizon) and Light/IR (latter used for ‘peak’ horizon shot)
Location: my home address in Banbury, Oxfordshire

This was taken when Endymion etc were tilted forward due to favourable libration. I saw the view in the eyepiece first and thought it was such an interesting showing the different types of lunar features that I grabbed the camera and was very grateful for the pretty good ‘seeing’ conditions!
