I am just taking my first steps into astrophotography hence the budget set-up at present. I am extremely pleased with the image and have uploaded it to several Facebook groups to show what can be achieved by purely using an iPhone, a £1.99 app and a standard camera tripod. The photo also made it onto the main BBC News website and was credited in my name on the morning of 13th August.

A photograph that I took of the Perseids meteor shower with Cassiopeia to the right in the early hours (around 2am) of Sunday 13th August 2017 with the focus on the radiant of the meteor shower.

The photo was taken in my back garden in Scarborough, North Yorkshire using an iPhone mounted on a tripod. I have then used the NightCap app set to Meteor Mode to capture the image. In total, I saw 29 meteors on the night with the attached photo being my favourite shot from several taken.
